Psychologist

Poh is a psychologist and art therapist, who has been endorsed in educational and developmental psychology by AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency). She received her post-graduate psychology qualifications from the University of Melbourne and her Master of Art Therapy from La Trobe University.

Poh works with children from school-age onwards (6 years plus) and through the life span to older adults. She is interested in working therapeutically with adults and children with issues including anxiety, depression, anger, and trauma. Poh also assesses and counsels for neurodevelopmental disorders, such as ADHD, autism and learning disorders (e.g., dyslexia). In therapy, Poh tailors her approaches to the individual abilities and needs of clients, using a range of cognitive behavioural approaches, EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing therapy), IFS (internal family systems) therapy, behaviour management, parent skills training and neuromodulation techniques.

Poh has been involved in the application of various psychological therapies for more than twenty years. She has trained and practiced in residential accommodations for young people with mental health issues, government and private schools, a company specialising in neuromodulation, a relationships counselling organisation, and community health centres.
